CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER – NACC

Dr. Ruth Laibon-Masha is the CEO of the National AIDS Control Council.  A PhD holder in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, she has over 20 years experience in the field of HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health.  She joins NACC from the United Nations Joint Programme on HIV (UNAIDS) in Geneva Switzerland, where she served as an Adviser to the Global HIV Prevention Coalition and Adolescent Health.

DEPUTY DIRECTORS

CPA, Kenneth O. Nyamolo is the Ag. Deputy Director, Finance & Administration. He holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance major) from Nairobi University, Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies (Community Development) and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). Kenneth has over 10 years’ experience in Finance & Accounting having worked both in the Private and Public sectors. He serves in the Legislative Affairs Work Stream of the Public Policy & Governance Committee of the ICPAK.

Dr. Celestine Mugambi is the Ag. Deputy Director, Coordination and Support.  She holds a Master of Science in Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the  University of Nairobi. Dr. Mugambi has 10 years work experience in the Medical Field.

Mr. Joshua Gitonga is the Ag. Deputy Director, Policy Monitoring & Research. Joshua is an epidemiologist, Monitoring and Evaluation specialist with over 20 years of experience in Health sector. He has led extensive Research, Monitoring and Evaluation programmes for Reproductive Health, Infection Prevention and Control, HIV response, Strategic Planning, Capacity development, planning and implementation of health care service delivery with the Government, Regional and Global Agencies. Joshua holds a Masters degree in Public Health and Epidemiology and currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy Program in Epidemiology.

MANAGERS

Mr. Gregory Weere is the Head, HR & Administration. He holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Behavior, Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology (Honours) from Panjab University, a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and a PG diploma in Guidance and Counseling. Mr. Weere has over 15 years’ experience and achievements in Human Resources and Administration having previously served in various capacities at the World Vision (K) microfinance, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, the National museums of Kenya and the Market Intelligence Finance & Economic Journal.

Mr. Edwin Chumo Kimutai is Head, Performance Management at the NACC. He holds a Masters of Public Health and Epidemiology from Kenyatta University, an advanced management and leadership from AMREF Training institute and Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences from Kenya Medical Training College. Edwin Served for close to ten years as Senior Public Health Officer Ministry of Health, National UNV (Programme Officer HIV & AIDS).

Mr. Clauder N. Musi is the Head, Procurement Division. He holds a Masters in Commerce from Shivachi University in Kolapur a Bachelor of Commerce from Indore Christian College -DAVV University in India and Advanced Diploma in Purchasing & Supply (CIPS). Mr. Musi has 20 years’ experience in public procurement systems having participated in the review of the Public Procurement and Disposal Bill 2003, 2004 and 2005 and the Public Procurement and Disposal Regulations in 2006.

Mr. Gabriel Nkari is the Head of Internal Audit. He holds an MBA in Finance from Kenya Methodist University and Bachelor of Commerce ( Accounting option )  from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Gabriel is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and a member of Institute of Internal Auditors. He has over 20 years work experience.

Ms. Caroline Kinoti is the Head County Support Division. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health & Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Education degree both from Kenyatta University. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She has a wide array of experience, spanning over 10 years in the NGO and Public Sectors in various management capacities.

Mr. Geoffrey Obonyo is the Head Policy and Strategy at the NACC. He holds a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics Major) degrees both from the University of Nairobi. He is an Economist by profession with over 10 years’ experience in Public Service Management and National Development Planning. He served as a Secretary to the National Steering Committee on The Policy, Legislation and Institutional Framework for the National Values System for Kenya. Geoffrey is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Economics, University of Nairobi.

Mr. Alex Kariuki is the Head, Management Information Systems. He holds a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management from University of Nairobi, He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He holds Professional certifications in CCNA, MCSE, ITIL, PRINCE2, MCSDT and CompTIA Project +. Mr. Kariuki has over 12 years’ wide experience and verse expertise in Managing Cyber Security, Business Process Improvement, Project Management, Systems Development and Implementation and ICT strategy formulation and execution. He has driven company businesses technologically by taking active leadership and participation in different organizations in ICT Field having previously served in various capacities at the World Vision International among others.

Fridah Muinde is the Head Research. She holds a Master of Public Health Degree from Kenyatta University and a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BScN) from the University of Nairobi. Currently Pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Public Health at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. A Public Health expert with over 10 years experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Research in the Health Sector. Has a number of publications including a book on utilization of Antenatal Care Services as a Sexual Reproductive Health Issue.

Mr. Reuben T. Musundi is the Head, Stakeholder Coordination. He holds a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management from University of Nairobi; He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Egerton University. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Community Development and project management from Premese Africa Institute.  A Certificate in HIV and AIDS monitoring from Population studies and Research Institute (PSRI) UON and Health system supervision from the Nascop.  Mr. Musundi has over 13 years’ wide  and diverse cultural experience in Stakeholder coordination, Community development and Project Management, from the regions as he served a Regional HIV coordinator in Western, Coast, and North Rift Regions and later as a Programme officer 1 PLHIV Program at the NACC Head Secretariat in Nairobi. His life Mission is “Finding my voice and helping others find their voice.

CPA, Josphine K. Kaberia is the Head Costing and Expenditure analysis. She holds a Master of Science in Finance and Investments from Nairobi University, Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Finance) and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). Josphine has over 10 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, Cost management and controls from the Private sector having worked in  education, hospitality and financial sectors respectively.
