The KASF coordination infrastructure identifies County HIV Committees as one of the coordination mechanisms. CHC is accountable to the County Governor for the performance of its functions and the exercise of their powers on matters relating to HIV in the county. The committee is responsible for effective delivery of the HIV response in the county. The Committee is chaired by the County Executive Committee (CEC) member of Health. Other members include Representative of County Assembly, County Commissioner, Representative, Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Representative of County secretary, Chief Officer – Health, Representative – Social services, Representative – planning and finance, PLHIV, Representative – Private Sector, 2 sub-Counties HIV Committees (SCACC), Representative – Faith community, CASCO. County HIV Committee shall meet at least once every quarter. All counties shall have inaugural meetings beginning March, 2016 after successful completion of development of County HIV Strategic Plans.
